The dreaded “About Me” page – LOL Who is it that knows how to write a good autobiography? Not I, but I’ll give it a shot. I am a happily married mother of 3 children (spaced quite far apart though not by intention) who currently are 19, 9 and 3 years of age. I have been using herbs since I myself was only 19 years old and have learned much along the way. I have found that, if one wants to find good information on the use of herbs, then one must seek this information somewhere other than the companies selling the herbal products they are interested in. Why? Well, as manufacturers, the FDA limits what they can say about their product(s). I do understand the theory behind these regulations, but have my own viewpoint on their necessity. On the one hand, the government is hoping to help people avoid purchasing a “cure all” that just so happens to be nothing more than river water from the beaver damn, possibly contaminated with Giardia. On the other hand, I believe a free market takes care of itself. If people learn to do their own research they will easily see through the “cure all’s” and find the valuable products to support their health. So, I felt it might be good to start a blog where people can go to learn how to make various herbal preparations, what herbs are useful for what body systems and/or dis-eases, and even be able to share their favorite recipes or variations on the above. If nothing else, it might make it easier to make heads or tails of the herbal section at your local health food store. I hope you enjoy the articles you find here and the sharing of ideas. Please, if you are interested in something and don’t see a post on it, ask! I am happy to try and answer the questions I am able to, and who knows – others reading the blog may have the answer too 🙂
